Evening light on Burghley House

It was a warm early September evening, and I headed out towards Stamford for a walk in the country park at Burghley House estates, armed with my camera, a couple of lenses and of course my trusty old Manfrotto tripod.

It was a gorgeous time of the day (between 6.00pm and 7.30pm), and despite having to dodge the numerous portacabins, and marquee tents still littering the grounds – left over by the recent Horse Trials event a few days earlier – I managed to capture a dozen or so shots that I was really happy with. This is just one of them.

These user interactive tours are a great way in which to totally immerse your customers in either a specific venue or location. Providing a fantastic insight in to a specific place, which can help enormously to attract new visitors.

Inside the Cathedral at Notre Dame

This photograph of the famous Cathedral was taken looking up at the vast stone work on the ceiling and walls. I think it clearly shows just how tall this Cathedral is, and also how small it makes you feel when you’re standing inside.

The long shutter speed used to capture the detail of the masonary and stained glass, has also captured the relative quick movements of the tourists visiting inside – resulting in semi transparent ghost like figures against the cold stone.

Streetlamp, Annecy, France

I took this image of an old streetlamp on the corner where two roads met in Annecy – a small alpine town in France.

The background colour of the buildings and the old wooden shutters really seemed to help give the viewer a true feeling for the local environment, even when the photograph doesn’t really show you much.

Paris at night

Here’s a night time shot of the Eiffel Tower standing proudly over the River Seine in Paris. It was taken on a cold evening in Autumn, just shortly after the sun went down. Dark storm clouds gathered in the sky as the lights on the tower sparkle brightly.

School sports day sack race

Taken during a busy school sports day, this action shot of a young girl racing down the school field in a sack clearly shows the determination on her face as she tries to beat one of her classmates.

I really like the composition of this photograph, as it illustrates the point of view clearly.

I captured this moment quickly when my subject wasn’t expecting it.

It’s a cheeky reportage style of photography I enjoy to do, because you quite often get some really nice results – this is one of those type of pictures which I really like. It’s an image that seems to tell a whole story, the viewer can look into the image and begin to read the story behind the picture.

Fun at the Fairground

A joyous portrait between Father and Daughter, this photograph was taken during a ride on a summer fairground attraction. It undoubtedly shows the fun and sheer excitement of the moment, captured on the subject’s faces as the ride spins them round and round, faster and faster.
